City Auto Celebrates 25 Years by Adding 200 More Vehicles

BARLETT, TN, July 24, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- City Auto, ranked the 2nd largest independent pre-owned auto dealer in the country by Auto Dealer Monthly, is celebrating its 25th anniversary by adding over 200 vehicles—plus the additional 2 acres will offer more shopping space and customer parking and a 9,900 square foot building that will be used primarily for office space and customer reception area . The expansion was made possible through the acquisition of a neighboring dealership, which is now defunct. Renovations are underway and should be completed before the end of summer. The added inventory brings City Auto's total selection to over 1,200 used cars, trucks, vans and SUVs.

In addition to the dealership's expansion, City Auto is running a series of sales promotions and sweepstakes to celebrate its quarter-century in Memphis. In June, the dealership awarded a 42" flat-screen Samsung TV and DVD collection to the lucky winner of their 25th Anniversary Facebook promotion. Additional giveaways, special sales and promotions are planned throughout the year.

City Auto's anniversary coincides with the announcement of Auto Dealer Monthly's 2011 Independent Retailer Awards. With 6,430 vehicles sold, the dealership was only 228 units short of the top spot on the list of largest independent pre-owned auto dealerships in the U.S. City Auto has been in the top three since the inception of the Independent Retailer Awards in 2006, and owner David Andrews was named the Independent Dealer of the Year in 2007, 2008 and 2009. 2010 marked City Auto's largest sales total to date. By comparison, average sales among the top 50 Independent Retailers this year were 1,787.
